Tropical Storm Moke Brings Heavy Rain and Strong Winds to Hawaii

Stormy Weather for Hawaiian Palates The recent onslaught of tropical storms battering Hawaii has brought heavy rain, strong winds, and concerns about how this will impact food systems.

For the second time in a week, residents are preparing for the worst as Tropical Storm Moke makes its way towards the Big Island.

According to the National Hurricane Center, Moke's maximum sustained winds are around 85km/h (50mph), with rainfall projections ranging from 130mm to 250mm (5 to 10 inches) over the next two days on the southeast and windward sides of the Big Island.
