Togo's Thin Line on Free Speech The government of Togo has claimed to possess "serious and corroborative evidence" against two French documentary filmmakers, Gaël Mocaër and Sebastian Perez Pezzani, who have been detained since July.
The allegations are shrouded in ambiguity, with the filmmakers' fixer, Fred Vedomey, also facing charges.
The case centers on the use of drones for filming purposes, which Togo's government claims was done without proper authorization.
