Branagh's Bonding Moments and the Unlikely Hero of 'Mayday' Kenneth Branagh is no stranger to the world of espionage, having co starred alongside Ryan Reynolds in the Apple TV Cold War action comedy "Mayday.
" The film, set in 1987 Soviet Union, follows a crashed U. S. Air Force pilot as he teams up with Branagh's former KGB operative to escape. Branagh wanted to get hands on and learn the stunt choreography himself.
He told the directors that he needed to "start making my body more flexible" to convincingly portray his character as a former lethal KGB operative.
