A U Turn for GM: The Unlikely Revival of CarPlay and Android Auto General Motors has reversed its decision to drop CarPlay and Android Auto from its vehicles.
In a surprise move, the company will now support both infotainment systems in a revamped user interface, available first in the 2027 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra pickups.
GM had initially cited concerns over monetization opportunities through subscriptions and the issue of infotainment systems taking over the display, particularly in electric vehicles.
