A Convenient Timing: What the BOJ's Schedule Says About Its Rate Hiking Plans The Bank of Japan's (BOJ) decision to hold its July policy meeting in 2027 on the 21st and 22nd is not without significance.

Typically, these meetings are scheduled towards the end of the month. However, next year's review will take place from July 30 31, just before two hawkish board members, Naoki Tamura and Hajime Takata, leave office.

Their departure on July 23 means they can still cast their votes when the BOJ decides whether to raise interest rates further.
